FAQ

Q: How long do the engines run for?

A: While the engines idle it is important to not let the engine run for too long. Glass is not the ideal material for a cylinder of an internal combustion engine.

I recommend only running the engine for a MAXIMUM of 1 minute and then letting the engine cool down. Any longer and there is a risk of the glass cylinder cracking due to expansion.

Q: What fuel does it use?

A: While the engine can use ordinary Petrol (Gasoline), I use Coleman’s Camp Fuel as this fuel burns with a much less pungent odour and is more volatile so therefore works better with the vapour carburetor.

Q: How do you start the engine?

A: Using an electric drill, attach the rubber starting wheel and use it to drive the flywheel to bump start the engine. Using the colour of the flame adjust the mixture until the flame is a rich blue colour, then ensure the the spark occurs around top dead centre and you’re away to go.

Q: Where will you post to?

A: At the moment I can only guarantee postage within the UK and Ireland. Customers from mainland Europe should check with me first before purchasing. Customers from the USA/Canada will have to pay any import tariffs themselves as well as an extra charge for postage.
